ZyXel presents The V660 Windows Mobile Smartphone
ZyXel Communications UK announced the launch of the V660 smartphone. The device is a WiFi/GPRS/GSM quad-band, with built-in VPN support.
V660 also offers access to email, the mobile web and instant messaging. The Windows Mobile 5 powered handset also includes a 1.9 inch screen, 2 megapixel camera, media player with audio and video playback capabilities, 64MB internal memory and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion. So aside from bringing VoWLAN capabilities it also provides what an average mobile phone would.
“The growing army of mobile workers is placing businesses under increasing pressure to provide a single device to replace the many that currently occupy our bags and pockets,” said Rob Mackinnon, VoIP product manager ZyXEL. “Whilst most technical innovation creates as many problems as it solves, the V660 combines a myriad of devices and ensures that SMBs and consumers alike always have instant access to the world’s sources of information and entertainment.”
The gadget includes standard encryption methods like WPA/WPA2/TLS and VPN support, ensuring secure VoWLAN calls and can be configured as required providing SMBs and consumers with a flexible approach to mobile communications. As with your average Windows Mobile powered device, the user will also be able to edit/view office documents with the dedicated Office Mobile applications.
The availability and price of the device we will find later this year.
