Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- The leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, the listed company ZTE releases the first non-reference tablet powered by the Kal-El (aka Tegra 3) 4+1-core chip in the world.

This quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 (Kal-El) processor is clocked at 1.5 GHz, though it’s been underclocked to 1.3GHz in the interest of prolonging battery life.

Actually some critics even say that “it is probably the most powerful consumer tablet on Planet Earth right now, and also the most impressive”.

The newest device carries the modest name – T98 and features a 7-inch (1280 x 800) touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2MP front camera, 3G modem support, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth support and a 4,000 mAh battery. It is 11.5mm thick and is running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb).

Unfortunately ZTE didn't mention the T98's price tag or release date yet.
