Yahoo Go for Mobile
Moldova.ORG -- Yahoo! Inc is hoping to redefine the mobile Internet experience by delivering personalised content to users via its newly launched Yahoo! Go for Mobile 2.0 software for mobile phones.
Announced at the Consumer Electronics Show, the beta version of Yahoo! Go 2.0 is available for download for users of Motorola's Razr V6 and V3 series of handphones.
Also, Yahoo! Go will be preloaded on selected new mobile phones from Motorola as well on more than 70 other handphones during the first half of 2007. The new application will also be distributed through mobile operators worldwide and locally through DiGi Telecommunications.
"Yahoo! oneSearch changes the mobile search game by fundamentally improving the way consumers' access and use the Internet on their mobile phones," said Marco Boerries, senior vice-president of its connected life segment.
"It is really all about presenting the most relevant search results to our users and localised content that will be of use to them, wherever they are."
Boerries also mentioned that in the near future users will be able to add their own customised widgets (similar to those found on the desktop) to allow for a more personal mobile device.
