Windows Live OneCare 1.5 released

A few days ago Yoav Schwartz, a Microsoft Lead Program Manager revealed that OneCare 1.5 was scheduled for roll out on January 30.

Microsoft jumped the gun, and released OneCare 1.5 as of yesterday. Windows Live OneCare is designed to deliver support for Windows Vista and comes with antivirus and antispyware engines. OneCare is one of the security solutions Microsoft promised will offer complete functionality for Windows Vista, in the United States and on 16 different other countries.

OneCare 1.5 will come with an estimated retail price tag of $49.95, an annual subscription for no more than three PCs. The Redmond Company announced that it will provide beta testers with a 60% discount from the subscription price.

Additionally, if you hurry up and buy OneCare 1.5 today, the antivirus will cost you a mere $19.95 for a three PC 1-year subscription. However, this offer is limited and you have to sign in before February 12, 2007 in order to receive the discount.

Currently, Microsoft is still offering OneCare with a three month's worth of free trial period. Microsoft's antivirus is available in Australia, Austria, Belgium (Dutch and French), Canada (English and French), France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland (French and German), the United Kingdom and the United States.
