The SIMS coming to the cinema screen

The Electronic Arts sold the right to create a movie on the idea of the gaming simulation/phenomenon “The SIMS to the 20th Century Fox, according to Variety.com.

Variety.go mentioned that a project has been started by Fox-based John Davis. Davis is credited with recent projects including “Norbit”, “when A Stranger Calls,” and “Eragon”

Steve Asbell is overseeing the project for Fox with SIMS Studio head Rod Humble managing the creative property for Electronic Arts.

'The SIMS has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said Humble. "Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling."

The author of The Sims is the legendary game designer and the founder of the studio Maxis, Will Rait, which in the present is working on a very new project, far from the Sims universe. The Spore game will give the opportunity to the player to become a witness in the development of a planet and its inhabitants.
