The new Vaio CR series by Sony
Sony's new VAIO CR series are available in couple of colors, to enjoy your laptop more. Also, the notebooks will also be fitted with a series of LEDs which will signal the fact that the notebook is booting or the fact that it has entered suspend / hibernate mode.
The new CR notebooks are based on Core 2 Duo processors, Intel X3100 graphics (so there won't be any Nvidia or Ati graphics adapter either) and use a 14.1" XBRITE-ECO LCD screen with wide 16:10 aspect ratio (native resolution is 1280x800).
The laptops also come with an integrated DVD burner and 802.11n wireless connectivity. Sony has also packed a 3-in-1 card reader and if you look close enough you might also be able to find an Express Slot ready to work with an external hardware device (such as an external audio adapter). The list of extras also includes USB 2.0 and Firewire connectivity.
In addition to the enhanced security features offered by Windows Vista™ Business (which comes pre-installed on the CR Series Notebook), the CR Notebook boasts a biometric fingerprint sensor. Fingerprint biometrics is a convenient and secure way to help protect your computer and the information on it with a simple swipe of your finger. The fingerprint sensor also stores passwords to the websites you visit, so authentication and access are quick and easy.

"Just like the car you drive, notebooks today are an extension of your personality. As such, users expect their PC to reflect their creativity and individuality, as well as handle their spreadsheets," said Mike Abary, senior vice president of VAIO product marketing for Sony Electronics in the United States. So if you feel connected in some way with the new CR series you can go ahead and buy one. Sony's line will be available shortly and will have a starting price of $1350.
