The Beatles and Apple Inc. have divided an apple
Moldova.ORG --Apple Corps (the company representing the interests of The Beatles band on the market of sound recording since 1968) and Apple Inc. (the known manufacturer of electronics) have settled the legal disagreements connected with use of trade mark Apple.
The new agreement will replace completely the one from 1991. According to its conditions, rights of the use the trade mark will pass all to the computer magnate.
Conditions of the transaction are not disclosed. "We love The Beatles, and it was hard to us to clash with them because of the right of possession the trade mark. Now all was settled, and in the further disagreements will not arise " – said Steve Jobs, head Apple Inc has declared.
In 1991 the companies refer in court in occasion of the use the general name and "apple" trade mark. The decision was accepted, that Apple Inc. (then Apple Computer Inc.) will keep the name under condition of full non-interference to musical business.
The conflict has produced with new force in 2003, with the advent of iTunes, musical Internet-shop Apple Inc. Apple Corps (which owners are Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, also the organization representing interests of Georges Harrison) it was offered to give to users a new service to access the songs of The Beatles. The company has refused and, moreover, has sued it on Apple Inc, having referred on infringement of agreement from1991.
