SPV E650 Available On Orange

Orange announced the first Windows Mobile 6.0 powered handset on the UK market, the SPV E650 (HTC Vox). For the first time the smartphone was announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

The gadget includes quad-band GPRS, EDGE and WiFi support as well as the usual software for creating and editing documents enabling its users to work while out of the office. Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents will appear on the device's screen as they would on a PC, avoiding any inconvenient formatting.

The full QWERTY keyboard that it includes makes it easier to respond to emails while on the move, while the screen's ability to switch from portrait to landscape mode ensures that the device will work great for viewing both documents and video content.

"We're naturally excited to be the first operator to launch a Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone onto the UK market," comments Nick Horton, Head of Business Devices, Orange Business Services UK. "By offering this powerful new operating system in a device that combines a compact, attractive design with full QWERTY functionality, we believe the SPV E650 represents the best option yet for today's mobile professional," he added.

Orange UK's business customers can now get one for a price around 242 Euro. The device will be available starting May this year.
