Solar Powered Bag Charges Your Laptop

Picard Lederwaren, the German fashion bag designer, came up with an unlimited bag-power charger combo for laptops or other electronic devices.

The Voltaic Backpack mobile power generator was the first to break new ground when it comes to associating “bag chargers” with solar power.

Picard's bag is made from black leather and looks much slicker than the Voltaic Backpack. So if you happen to roam around stylish places, this is probably what you need. They're standard size and can be easily carried around using a handle or a shoulder-strap. The ports are concealed in the interior of the bag, so your laptop, phone, digital audio player or any gadget are charged as you move from place to place. Sewed on the outside of the bag are lightweight water proof solar panels.

Just like the voltaic solar backpack, included with the Picard bag is a Li Ion battery pack which stores any generated surplus of power, so it's presumably going to be a real boon even if you happen to buy in the Monsoon season.

The device will be available for 700$ (350 UK pounds) from August 2007.
