Sim City and OLPC's $100 XO Laptop
The project $100 One Laptop Per Child's XO Laptop gathered interests of other companies in supporting it.
Will Wright -the creator of The Sims- and Electronic Arts will make a contribution by distributing a free version of an open source version of the original SimCity for the $100 One Laptop Per Child's XO computer.
Known as XO-1 and previously as the $100 Laptop, it is a proposed inexpensive laptop computer intended to be distributed to children around the world, especially to those in developing countries.
The reason for this is providing children with access to knowledge and education in the modern way. The laptop is being developed by the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) trade association, which is an U.S. based, non-profit organization created by faculty members of the MIT Media Lab.
