Sex, drugs and violence because of...texting?

Chisinau(Moldova.ORG) -- Acoording to a new study by Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, teens who like to text frequently are more vulnerable to risky behaviors.
The study showed that teens that text message heavily are:
Twice likely to have tried alcohol
43 percent more likely to binge drink
40 percent more likely to smoke cigarettes
41 percent more likely to try illegal drugs
Three and a half times more likely to have sex
90 percent more likely to have sex with 4 or more partners
55 percent more likely to get in a physical fight
Well, the results are frightening, but is texting really so dangerous?
Scott Frank, lead researcher on the study, "The startling results of this study suggest that when left unchecked texting and other widely popular methods of staying connected can have dangerous health effects on teenagers. This should be a wake-up call for parents to not only help their children stay safe by not texting and driving, but by discouraging excessive use of the cell phone or social websites in general."
The study based its findings on a survey of the 20 percent of Midwestern teens who reported that they texted heavily.
