Palm Treo 680 Launched in Peru
Palm Inc. and Claro recently announced the availability of the Palm Treo 680 smartphone in Peru.
Claro is America Movil's commercial trademark in Peru. Claro utilizes the GSM technology as well as its GPRS and EDGE evolutions. It is the mobile telecommunications carrier with the largest coverage throughout the country, and its market-share was 38.7% as of December 2006. By the end of 2006, Claro grew up by 73%, which is superior to the 54% growth of the whole Peruvian market.
The Treo 680 GSM / GPRS / EDGE quad-band world phone, is running on the Palm OS, bears Palm's "ease of use" mark.
