Nokia Siemens Networks to increase cooperation
Nokia Siemens Networks announced that hundreds of workers and two manufacturing operations would be transferred in Italy, Jabil, to strengthen cooperation between the two companies.
The deal has been approved by European Union antitrust authorities and is expected to come into force on Nov. 1, Nokia Siemens said. It gave no financial details.
Nokia Siemens Networks Italy signed a contract for the transfer of the manufacturing functions of its Cassina de' Pecchi and Marcianise plants, which together employ more than 600 people, to Jabil Circuit Italy.
Jabil, a global electronic solutions company, will continue operations on the same sites, Nokia Siemens said. It employs more than 75,000 people in 20 countries.
Nokia Siemens Networks, which began operations in April, is a joint venture of Nokia Corp., the world's largest mobile phone maker and Siemens AG, Europe's largest electronics and electrical engineering company. The joint venture employs some 60,000 people.// Pravda.Ru
