Nokia Shows Off Its First Windows Phone 7 Smartphone

Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Nokia announced that it would be partnering with Microsoft to produce some Windows Phone 7 (WP7) devices in February. This partnership has now born some unofficial fruit in the form of the Nokia Sea Ray WP7 smartphone closed showcase.

Nokia has showcased its first smartphone based on Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Phone 7 operating system at last. The phone handset looks almost like the recently announced MeeGo-based N9.

What is known about the device:

The code-named Sea Ray product looks like the N9, hence; it sports the same design and 854*480 resolution screen. It is unknown what is inside and whether it sports ARM Cortex-A8-based Texas Instruments OMAP3630 or something from Qualcomm.

There are differences: the LED flash is placed different on the backside of the product.
Based on the “screenshots” of the home screen of Nokia WP7 first-gen phone includes phone, messaging, e-mail, browser, Xbox live and two other features.

This indicates clearly that Nokia did not customize its first WP smartphone to differentiate itself from other manufacturers.
