New Pocket-Sized GD2000 Notebook

The device has the size of two stacked paperback books, said the Company. The GD2000 provides mobility of a handheld computer with the performance of a full-sized notebook.

According to developers, it has a high degree of protection against external influences, combined with 'powerful performance full-size notebook. The GD2000 comes with the Intel Ultra Low Voltage Core Solo processor, highly sensitive GPS and a 5.6-inch daylight-viewable DynaVue touch-screen display.

The handheld computer is equipped with wireless Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth, 77-key keyboard with backlight. The equipment also includes a receiver GD2000 GPS (SIRFstarIII) module and Trusted Platform Module, limiting unauthorized access to your computer. The device provides the replacement of the hard drive without any tools. Lithium-ion battery charge lasts for six hours.

Mark Johnston, director of Strategic Computing Solutions for General Dynamics Itronix, said, "The GD2000 is designed for the most extreme work environments. For example, after jumping from a plane with the GD2000 strapped to their chests, military paratroopers can pinpoint or change their landing location as well as receive updated mission information while in flight and after they land." 

According to a release, for military, law enforcement, emergency first responders and field service personnel working in environments where conditions are harsh and space is limited, the GD2000 delivers mission-critical computer.

General Dynamics Itronix is a developer of wireless, rugged computing solutions for mobile workers, offering a range of field computing systems, including full-sized laptops, ultra-mobile notebook PCs and tablet PCs.

Supposedly the price of General Dynamics Itronix GD2000 will be $ 4900.
