Moldova and Romania signed a memorandum of cooperation on ICT sector
Larisa Muntean/ Chişinău / Moldova.ORG/ --Government of Moldova and Romania signed yesterday, 28 June, a memorandum of understanding on Information Technologies and Communications segment.
Act which provides for cooperation between Moldova and Romania in this field was signed by the Minister of ICT RM, Pavel Filip, and Minister of Communications and Information of Romania, Valerian Vreme.
Meanwhile, heads of national authorities for manage the radio frequencies of both countries (ANCOM and NSRF), have concluded an agreement on the coordination and distribution of preferential frequencies for digital radio systems mobile land.
Moldovan Minister expressed hope that these acts will be a good foundation for bilateral cooperation platform between Moldova and Romania on the ICT sector and after their cooperation will benefit citizens of both countries.
"For us is very important the transfer of experience, especially in policy development and in the sector's development strategies, harmonizing legislation in line with European requirements, create a climate favorable as representatives of business in this sector," added Philip.
In turn, his Romanian counterpart Valerian, qualified this eveniment like as an important step for expanding and deepening cooperation.
"We intend to strengthen bilateral contacts, including the launching of projects of common interest. We will support Moldova in development projects in the field of electronic communications, broadband, WiMax and 4G" added the Romanian minister.
The sides discussed the possibility ofreduction postal rates and of roaming between the two countries.
UNIMEDIA mention that recently, ICT Minister, Pavel Filip, together with the Moldovan delegation was in Singapore, where they attended the Ministerial Forum on Information and communications technologies. During that meeting were punctuated deepening bilateral cooperation needs in the development of Moldovan-Singapore and Information Society.
