Japan to meet upgraded Xbox 360 in October

It’s official! The Xbox 360 Elite will be launched in October in Japan. The upgraded version had already been launched in US, Canada and May in spring.

The upgraded version of the Xbox 360 console, will have the added features of HDMI output and a 120GB hard drive.

“Xbox 360 Elite joins the ranks of our Core and Pro offerings that provide consumers with the flexibility to purchase the version of Xbox that best fits their unique needs,” said Peter Moore, the head of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, for the U.S. launch. “Xbox 360 Elite joins the ranks of our Core and Pro offerings that provide consumers with the flexibility to purchase the version of Xbox that best fits their unique needs.”

The late launch in Japan will have an effect of a lower price for the console. The Xbox 360 Elite is set to retail in Japan for 47,800 yen, or about $389. In the U.S., the Xbox 360 Elite retails for $479.

Microsoft hopes to conquer the game market in Japan, with a lower price for the upgraded console. The sales of Xbox 360 in Japan have to gain with the release of Japanese-made RPGs such as Blue Dragon and Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata.
Japan’s have so many consoles to choose a favorite one, but Microsoft will have its fans, be sure about that.
