IFA 2011: Verbatim shows its innovations
Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Verbatim intends to show its latest innovations in storage and lighting products at 2011’s IFA, 2nd - 7th of September 2011 in Berlin. In Hall X19, Stand 218, visitors can get a first glimpse of Verbatim’s new solutions and view the wide portfolio of retail and professional LED lighting that the company is launching from September 2011.
SSD – the alternative to internal 2.5” Hard Disk Drives
For the first time, Verbatim will showcase its new generation of solid-state drives (SSDs). The internal alternative for all users who want to gain all the benefits provided by SSD technology. SSDs are an ideal hard drive alternative storage solution for notebook and desktop PCs. They provide extraordinary data transfer rates up to 250MB/sec READ and 180MB/sec WRITE speed, faster system boot up, improved system responsiveness and battery life and increased shock resistance over HDD equipped systems. The SATA SSD will be available in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB capacities and will be available from October 2011.
LED lighting – retail and professional ranges
Verbatim will represent 2 categories of LED lighting products in September 2011 – one for professional installers and the other for retail. The retail collection will come in blister packaging which is more popular among retailers, providing immediate visibility of the product and better in-store security. The range includes all the popular bulbs including MR16, PAR16, Classic A and Candlelight, and will give consumers the chance to benefit from significant energy and cost savings by moving from standard incandescent or halogen lighting to LED.
Also the new professional range includes products with high specifications including built-in temperature control systems, very good dimming compatibility and a highly-efficient heat sink design. The range includes PAR16, PAR30, PAR38, AR111, MR16, R63, Classic A and Classic B. Packed in convenient boxes (single and multipacks) to minimise logistics/storage costs, they enable easy access of the products, making them ideal for large, high-quality installations such as hotel or restaurant chains, office blocks or cruise ships.
Store ‘n’ Go Traveller - New SuperSpeed USB3.0 HDDs
With their new range of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Hard Disk Drives, Verbatim offers storage solutions for everybody combining exclusive design, excellent performance, robust portability and security. The new Store ‘n’ Go Traveller is a 750GB 2.5” portable hard drive that is available in black and silver and has a tough rubber surrounding edge to give extra protection to the drive.
Another new 2.5” HDD, the Store ‘n’ Go Executive, offers storage capacities of 500GB and 750GB and 256bit AES Hardware Encryption for high level data security. With a sleek, sophisticated design, the Executive is available in three high-class finishes: Graphite Grey, Silver and Glossy Black and has a sensor touch button which enables users to activate preset functions.
Verbatim will also be showing for the first time its newly designed 3,5’’ desktop drive; the Store’n’Save HDD. It offers storage capacity up to 3TB.
100GB Blu-ray
Verbatim’s new triple layer BD-R XL 100GB Blu-ray 4x discs will be shown at the IFA too. Standard blu-ray discs come with storage capacities of 25GB for a single-layer disc and 50GB for a dual-layer disc, but a BD-R XL disc includes a third storage layer to give it a storage capacity of 100GB. Verbatim’s triple layer technology has been certified by the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) and is planning to go into mass production from Q1, 2012.
