Icron presents the First Wireless 2.0 Hub
Icron technologies Corporation presents the first wireless USB 2.0 hub based on the 802.11 g radio standard.
Y-E Data was first to loose the cables in Japan releasing the YD-300 WUSB, a wireless 4 port USB hub that doesn't use a certified Wireless USB though. Icron are actually the developers and patent holders of ExtremeUSB technology and industry's standard 802.11 g radio.
This Hub takes USB connectivity over the boundaries of your desktop, enabling devices such as printers, scanners, hard drives, and MP3 players to PCs and Macs throughout your home or office.
The four-port hub set will give PC (Windows, Linux, Unix) or Mac users immediate high-speed wireless connectivity with maximum reach extending beyond 30 m (100 feet). The system comes with the required power adapters and host USB cable. The product will be the first wireless USB 2.0 Hub that is supposed to meet the requirements of Industrial, Military, Pro-Summer, Medical and Commercial markets.
“We are delivering on the promise of true wireless USB 2.0 plug and play functionality with our WiRAnger Cable Free USB 2.0 Hub. Our customers want the freedom to move beyond the desktop, or the room, and seamlessly connect their USB devices. Icron's flexible Extreme USB technology is the engine that enables USB 1.1 or 2.0 connections over any media: wireless, cable, power line or fiber optics,” stated Robert Eisses, President and CEO of Icron Technologies.
Icron's WiRanger Cable Free USB 2.0 Hub is available worldwide for 394 US $.
