First Acer’s Ultrabook: 13.3-inch Aspire S3! (VIDEO)

Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Multinational information technology and electronics corporation, Acer Inc. releases its first ultrabook and it is an exceptional one rival for the Apple’s Macbook Air! The device’s name is Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook.

The manufacturer’s spokesman Campbell Kan, president of PC Global Operations, Acer Inc., is sure that the ultrabook will be extremely successful: “As the only Ultrabook with an HDD option, the Aspire S3 offers the computing power and storage needs of a notebook, along with the mobile communication advantages of the smartphone and tablet PC. It's a major breakthrough in notebook design and will surely fortify our notebook competitiveness in the ICT market”.

Specs and features:

The Acer Aspire S3 is 13mm thick, has a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) screen, and comes enclosed in a magnesium-alloy shell. The device weights 1.4kg and packs a low-voltage Intel Core processor (part of the Sandy Bridge family), some 4GB of RAM, either a hard drive or a solid state drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a cooling system that takes heat away from the palm rest and the underside, a battery allowing for up to 7 hours of operation, and an instant-on mode that gets the system up and running in 1.5 seconds.

Acer Inc also announces that S3 resumes in a quick 1.5 seconds and delivers 50-day battery life via Acer Green Instant On; features large hard drive capacity; and connects to the Internet in 2.5 seconds.

USA and Europe will receive S3 later in September. The device will cost from €799 (1`147.13 USD) and up to €1,199 (1`721.41 USD).
