Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Iomega, worldwide leader in innovative storage such as external hard drives, network attached storage, and multimedia devices, releases Mac Companion external HDD that can charge Apple’s iPhones and iPads.
EMC subsidiary Iomega revealed a new storage device that is specifically designed to be used with Apple hardware, an external 'Mac Companion Hard Drive' which stands out thanks to the inclusion of a high powered (2.1 Amp) USB port that enables users to charge their iPhone, iPad or iPod.
Iomega's Mac-loving drive comes with a silver/black color scheme, it makes use of a 7200 RPM (rotations per minute) 3.5-inch hard drive (that's formatted HFS+), and features two FireWire 800 connectors, a dual-port USB 2.0 hub (that's three USB 2.0 ports in total), plus an LED capacity indicator system (more lights are lit as the drive fills up with data).
The Mac Companion Hard drive is bundled with the Iomega Protection Suite (includes file backup software, 2GB of cloud space for online backup and a 12-month subscription of Trend Smart Surfing), it has a three-year warranty, and is available in two capacities - 2TB ($195) and 3TB ($295).
