Dragon's Lair coming on HD DVD in August

The Dragon's Lair will be available on HD DVD in August. For the beginning the producer team announced that it will be available only Bly-ray, but it seems they were wrong. The HD DVD version will come in August this year.

The Canadian company Digital Leisure already released Dragon’s Lair for Blu-ray Disc on April 9 using BD-Java technology.

“I’ve seen the newly restored footage and it just looks amazing” Don Bluth, original creator of Dragon’s Lair, said of the Blu-ray footage. “It looks even better than I can remember. The visuals, the 5.1 surround sound audio, all I can say is ‘Wow!’ Now a whole new generation can enjoy Dragon’s Lair all over again.”

All of the special features presented on the Blu-ray version were shot natively in 1080p at 24fps. These include brand-new interviews with creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and Rick Dyer, and for the first time a full length visual commentary of the game. Presumably, the video will be presented similarly for the HD DVD release.

Dragon’s Lair on HD DVD version will be available at the estimated price of $29.95, the same price as the Blu-ray version. Even if the game has 24 years old it is still a wanted game between the players.
