Berlin Included In Google Earth in 3D format
Google Earth is a downloadable application that allows users to view maps and other satellite imagery directly from the desktop of their computer.
This week, Google announces an exciting add-on for the program that provides an incredible 3D view of Berlin, displaying well-developed panoramas. At this time, there are only 44.000 buildings from the city (10 percent of the Berlin buildings) but the images are totally amazing.
“Not only that, but five of the buildings are available in the "highest resolution" with even interior details including the Reichstag Building (seat of the German Parliament), and the Olympic Stadium. The models were made possible with help by Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam and a spin-off called 3D Geo GmbH. It was developed by the State of Berlin through the Senate Department of Urban Development, the Senate Department for Economics, Technology, and Women's Affairs, and Berlin Partner GmbH,” Google Earth Blog reported.
Google has another application, Earth – SketchUp that will allow users to design their own models of cities, building and streets using a simple 3D drawings application. All the 3D designs are published on Google Warehouse, a website especially designed by the company to host all the drawings created by the users.
