ARCHOS reveals fastest and cheapest Tablets with G9 Tablet range

Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Archos, an award winning technology innovator and pioneer in the tablet market, introduces an unrivaled combination of speed and storage with its latest tablets featuring an OMAP 4 processor with an ARM Cortex dual-core A9 running at 1.5 GHz and Seagate's 250GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) capacity.

The Archos G9 80 and 101 slates Honeycomb will be the world’s cheapest Honeycomb tablets when they go on sale – and the first with mechanical hard drives too.

Clearly aimed at digital media and entertainment fans, the main distinction between the G9 tablets is their screen size: the 80 sports an 8-inch 1.024 by 768-pixel display, while the 101 kicks out to 1,280 by 800 pixels and (you guessed it) 10.1 inches.

The G9 tablet range continues to push technological boundaries and features the following innovations.

NEON graphics to unleash your games The 1.5 GHz OMAP4 processor in ARCHOS G9 tablets includes the powerful NEON graphics co-processor technology for optimized 3D gaming.

Because most 3D games use this technology, your ARCHOS G9 tablet will be able to run great 3D games smoothly and with amazing detail, turning your G9 tablet into a full on games console with the thousands of games available through Android Market.

Racing ahead of the pack Whist most current generation Android™ tablets are using a 1 GHz dual-core nVidia Tegra 2™ Processor, ARCHOS have decided to push their G9 tablets even further by loading them out with a 1.5 GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor. With 50% more raw computational power, ARCHOS G9 tablets have the power needed for a great Android experience.

But perhaps most impressive is the use of Seagate’s HDD with a 250GB capacity that’s the largest used on any tablet currently in the market. Archos says its 8 times more storage at the same cost of a standard 32GB tablet and with all that space you can store over 50 hours of full 1080p HD content.

Both tablets are 3G-ready, meaning that there’s only one version instead of both a Wi-Fi-only and a 3G/Wi-Fi version. The one version supports Wi-Fi and can also support 3G with the addition of a USB dongle.

The Archos G9 3G Stick is designed to fit into the back of all G9 tablets to get 3G connectivity. It costs $49 for the 3G Stick.

The Archos G9 Android tablets will be the first from the company to come with Google certification, meaning Android Market access.

The Archos 80 G9 is priced at only $279 and the Archos 101 G9 carrying a $349 price tag. Competing tablets with similar specs are generally priced starting at $499. This is quite an amazing deal and its scheduled to arrive by the end of September.
