Apple Thunderbolt display’s debut
Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Apple has debuted a 27-inch display designed to be used as a tricked-out docking station for Thunderbolt-enabled MacBooks.
The monitor features a FaceTime camera, high quality audio, along with Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt ports.
The display boasts a thin aluminum and glass enclosure, along with a MagSafe connector to charge a MacBook Pro or Air.
Of course, the monitor supports DisplayPort tech for high-res displays and works with existing adapters for HDMI, DVI and VGA.
The display requires a Mac with a Thunderbolt I/O port.
The additional specs are:
Three USB 2.0 ports.
Single Thunderbolt port can be used to daisy chain five additional devices.
Ambient light sensor automatically adjusts brightness.
Built-in 2.1 speaker system (49 watts)
16:9 edge-to-edge glass design.
178 degree viewing angle.

The new Thunderbolt display will be available within the next 60 days for a cool $1,000.
