Android the world's no.2! Better than Apple, RIM and Microsoft

By the end of this year Google Inc's Android software will in a single year become the world's second most popular operating system for cell phones, leapfrogging competitors like Microsoft Corp, Research in Motion and Apple Inc. It will challenge Nokia to become the world's most popular mobile OS by 2014, according to a research firm Gartner new report .
Gartner said with manufacturers like Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and Motorola planning to offer budget Android phones this fall, Android will become a mass market technology, allowing it to grab the No. 2 worldwide rank sooner than the firm had initially expected.
